there remains in store about 200 tt pork one barrel of bread one barrel of Indian meal, one barrel of Potatoes which I intend to plant. about 20 tt rice 10 tt tea & 4 gallon Molasses - we all must have suffer'd for bread had I not found flour & meal on the Island as considerable of the bread & corn was damaged in landing & continual gails & rain from the third day after landing - which gave us many hard struggles once the Buildings were in order and having no bill of the [scantling?] & several pieces lost or occasioned another difficulty - but by making substitutes & by Prayer and perseverance the store & House was first in good order the sixth of November but surely the carpenter that framed the House was either in love or stupid as many pieces was wrong number and no braces of any consequence to the building which gave me a deal of trouble to affix the frame as a building on this Island should be exceedingly well braced on all angles..

The 1st of Feb'y I sent a new constructed packet boat for Halifax with a S E gail and is surprising to no one took it up as it was surely along some [feat?] of the last after [illegible] thirteen days with various winds not ever at this Isle again within six miles from when she took her departure & the papers all dry in good order - should winds & weather permit the gentlemen that has charge of this, with cause it to be safe, delivered & in the interm acquaint you of all the transactions on this Sale from the 18th of Decem'br to the present date & is a Man of an excellent disposition William Burrows Commander of the late unfortunate Ship Hannah & Eliza of Boston a fine new ship
