Sir Lieut. Hodgeson, of this post, being called
on business to South Carolina, and having
two likely negro servants, offer'd one for sale
which I have bought for ten pounds currency
has yet seven years to serve, is very stout for
his age & active. I take him to the Island
in order to discharge two of the lads from it
and doubt not but your Honor will allow
him reasonable wages -- please order the said
ten pounds paid to the bearer Wm. Sam'l Steven
-son on order on acct. of your Honour.
Most Ob'd [ Obliged] Hum'l [Humble
(servant) S'ant James Morris
