Item advises of an additional three month supply of rations is to be sent to Sherbrooke; crops are not in, and settlement would otherwise be short on food; Lord Dalhousie considers this a special bounty, and Ross is to use his own discretion, distribution only to the industrious and worthy; Ross is to have the supplies conveyed to Sherbrooke as cheaply as possible and to guard against loss or waste; he is also to try and save some rations for future use.
