Item discusses George sending a piece of veal the following day to Edward and hope that it reaches him safe; discusses borders being away the previous week, and going to travel while they are gone. George mentions a "catastrophe" of John Lewis and Albert Corkum drowning; the two men had gone swimming after work and Corkum went out to far and did not know how to swim. Lewis drowned trying to save Corkum. Discusses the widow (does not mention name) who has 15 under aged children; discusses taking up a collection for the family at church. George mentions that he has not heard from Calkins, and is looking for someone else to give an advance on the house.
