The Royal Canadian Navy
HM naval base Cornwallis at Deep Brook, N.S.
Opened in May 1942. It was the largest naval training base in the British Empire handling some 11,000 trainees and instructors both men and women at the time. By 1945, Canada had the third largest navy in the World.
