The Prat Sisters: Free Spirits of the 1890s

Inscription, on reverse of backing: "Mary Ann Marsters, painted by her grand niece, Annie Louisa Prat, May 1897." Annie stayed for a short time with her great aunt while studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 1896-97. Mary Ann Marsters died on October 20, 1897.
Donated by the estate of Annie L. Prat, 1961.
