By 1900, Minnie and May Rosina Prat had opened their own bookbinding and leather working studio, the Primrose Bindery, in Le Boutilier Studios, 37 West 22nd Street. May continued the bindery after Minnie died of typhoid fever on September 4, 1901. It is likely the photograph was taken when the Primrose Bindery was in its heyday, before Minnie's death.
