Notes from Piers Accession Book: Photograph of sampler worked by Elizabeth Hicks (born 5 October, 1804; died 17 March 1881), Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, 3rd September 1814, aged 9 years 11 months. She was daughter of Archibald and Helen (Benson) Hicks; and on 10 June, 1830, married William B. Smith of Nictaux(?), Annapolis County, Nova Scotia.

Size of original 10 1/4 high by 10 inches wide.

From the original belonging to her granddaughter Mrs. I. Chipman Archibald (nee Clare Amelia Daniels), Halifax, Nova Scotia.
