Photograph of obverse and reverse of smaller Silver Medal of George III, 1814, presented by the sovereign; worn as the insignia of office of the First Captain of the Micmac Tribe of Indians of Halifax and associated counties, at Spring Brook Reservation near Shubenacadie, Hants County, Nova Scotia (Photo. full size). Diameter 2.37 inches. Designed by T. Wyon, Junior.

This medal passes to whoever is elected First Captain. The other Captains have gilt gorgets (Mootshkole); see accession no. 6748. This medal is now possessed by First Captain Peter Paul (son of late Abram Paul of Dartmouth), at present living on the Truro Reservation, Nova Scotia. Abram Paul was a cousin of the old Judge Christopher Paul, of the Beminoit family.
