Photograph of oil painting of "King John signing Magna Charta", painted by William Valentine (1798-1849) portrait painter of Halifax, N.S., probably sometime between 1828 and 1841. Size of canvas 48 x 40 inches (corrset). Not signed or dated. The picture contains 19 faces. It is one of three historical pictures known to have been painted by Valentine.
