About fifteen years ago a piece of swampy marsh, which had been left common to the town was divided among the inhabitants living in the township, to settle the dispute regarding the grass thereon, in proportion -- a two acre lot for every right of land owned in the township. Memorialists request grants to the marsh according to the numbers they drew. Request further a grant to a marshland of four or five hundred acres, ungranted, lying west of Amherst township, which they would dyke, and divide in proportion to the lands they now own. In council: The former part granted, the latter deferred.
