Nova Scotia Land Papers 1765-1800

Petitioner is settled at Sable River, Shelburne County, where he received 200 acres of land for service as Smith and Farrier in the 17th Regiment of Light Dragoons for eleven years prior to the conclusion of the peace, and settled in this country after his discharge in 1783. Has a wife and seven children, and intends to erect a sawmill; but needs meadow land to supoort the cattle to do the work about the mill. Requests a grant to meadow land near his land. Map attached.
