Memorialists have reclaimed and improved a tract of marsh within the township and have occupied the same for twenty-five years. In 1788 they obtained a promise from Governor Parr for the same, but it has been delayed. A further petition of 1790 was referred to some indifferent magistrates, who reported favorably to the memorialists. They further petitioned President Bulkeley stating their surprise at seeing an Order from the Surveyor General to lay out 4500 acres of land including the desired marsh to Hon. Thos Cochran.
Request relief.
Memorial.
