Names listed in the documents: John Bower
From Jamaica. His brother, Nicol Bower (Royal Navy. Killed in Action) was granted, in 1769, 2000 acres at Crow Harbour. The grant was registered in 1771.
The land was let to George Smith until 1777 or 1778. Since then, privateers have prevented improvements.
Memorial to prevent land from being escheated, Bower intending to settle there. "Referred to consideration 1783."
