The individuals listed here have been tested and certified by the Genealogical Institute of the Maritimes (G.I.M.) or the National Institute of Genealogical Studies (N.I.G.S., Toronto ON). The designations C.G.(C) [Certified Genealogist (Canada)] and G.R.S.(C) [Genealogical Record Searcher (Canada)] identify members of the G.I.M.; the designation P.L.C.G.S. [Professional Learning Certificate Genealogical Studies] identifies members of the N.I.G.S. These designations confirm the professional qualifications of these individuals, who are all members in good standing of their respective organization. They work for an hourly or contract fee; the Nova Scotia Archives assumes no responsibility for their work.
