     At a Council held at the Same place on Fryday the 19th of May 1727

     His Honr cquainted the Board that he had Conform to the Minute of Council on Munday the 15 Inst ppared an order for Mr. Shirreff to act as Sece which having laid before the Board the Same was approv'd of & orderd to be Recorded [190]
 



Mr. Shirreffs Order to Act as Secrtary to be recorded.


     Then his Honour Recommended to the Board, that Merchts were Endeavouring to Lower ye value of the French Coin which being the only currency we have amongst us in the province will be these means by Wholly exported which will prove very detrimental to the whole province for which he desired their Consideration
 
the Councils advice desired in relation to the ffrench coin.


     He also acquainted the Board that the Inhabitants Were dayly raising the price of their Commodities especially the Wood which without it could be Regulated whould also prove very detrimental.
 


     Then he laid before the Board a Mem.o from Germain Savoye and Pierre Godet directed on the back to W.m Shirreff Esq. & address'd within to John Adams, Will.m Skene & the said William Shirreff Esq & to the Rest of the Members of ye Council to advise them of their being return'd to this River dated the 18/24 Inst as upon file which being read he also desired the advice of the Board

     Resolv'd that all the afors.d Coin be continued at their former value especially the new Crowns stampt with four double LLs @ 12/6 and that all the different Species of French Coin both of Silver and Gold be paid and Receiv'd in all
 
the ffrench Coin Kept at the former value
