Nova Scotia Department of Seniors

In 2008 the Senior Citizens Commission (1972) and the Senior Citizens Secretariat (1980) were merged in the new Department of Seniors. The department facilitates the planning, development and coordination of policies, programs and services for seniors in partnership with government departments, seniors and voluntary seniors' groups, and administers the Senior Citizens' Secretariat Act.
