Nova Scotia Police Review Board

In 1985 the Police Review Board, of which the chair of the Nova Scotia Police Commission was ex officio registrar, was established to conduct hearings on complaints investigated but not resolved by the commission. In 2004 the commission was abolished and the review board continued on a permanent footing to conduct investigations and inquiries in accordance with the new Police Act. It also conducts hearings into unresolved complaints referred to it by the Nova Scotia Police Complaints Commissioner, who is an ex officio member of the board.
