Dear Sir
I was the day before yesterday at Porters Lake attended by the Beurer Lewis Toney and the black - Lynch whom you recommended, whom I offered twenty acres of good land that I had purchased above the bridge, But both he and Toney insisted on having it below the bridge and claimed a promise from you to have it there. Notwith standing this interfears [interferes] with the expectation of those who were at the expence [expense] of the escheat I set them both down there and I purpoze [propose] to be in town as soon as I recover the fatigue of the journey and hope we may be able to concert means to give satisfaction on all hands, - Toney requests me to give him two acres but that is not in my power.
Your obliged humble servt [servant]
T Chamberlain
Honl [Honorable] C. Morris, Sur. Gen
