I do Certify that the above persons were landed at the Ferry wharf Dartmouth after the establishment of the Blacks at Mellville Island was done away with, by order of the late Governor; Sir John Cathor and finding these people destitute and unable to move their families to prevent their suffering I did authorize Mr Crain to perform the above service, and to prevent their perishing, a sick family of the Blacks were furnished with fuel and necessaries as above stated which services I considered myself authorised to require under the authority of his Excellency the Commander in Chief
