James Cuppaidge Cochran proposes to grant in fee simple to John Griffin (a man of colour) a certain lot of land containing ten acres, being part of a tract of land situated on the south west side of the great road leading from Windsor to Halifax, and known by the name of Lot No. 7. The said ten acres to be bounded as follows: viz. Beginning at the south east corner of land lately granted to Andrew William Cochran, thence running south west along said land 20 chains; thence south east five chains; thence north east 20 chains or until it meets the great road aforesaid; thence along the said road to the place first mentioned.

Personally came before me John Griffin above mentioned and duly declared that he is fully contented and satisfied to accept the Lot of land above mentioned as his settlement when the same shall be completed. Given under my hand this 4th Day of

February 1816.
