Divided and dealt out by the said Lewis de Molliter in Messes and Portions fit for use under the care and direction of such person or persons as shall be for that purpose appointed by the said Thomas N. Jeffery his Deputy or Agent the Beef and a Vegetables to be made by the said Lewis De Mollitor into soup and issued in Messes consisting of the allowances of six grown persons for each of which Messes the said Lewis de Mollitor undertakes to provide and supply a Mess Pan and for every man woman and child in each Mess a spoon and also that he will provide supply and pay for all Cooks attendance and other incidental expences the article of Fuel alone excepted. And the said Thomas N. Jeffery for himself and his successors in office in behalf of our said Lord the King doth by these presents grant covenant and agree to and with the said Lewis de Mollitor his Executors and administrators that he will pay or cause to be paid to the said Lewis de Mollitor his Executors or Administrators for the providing furnishing and victualling the Blacks and People of Colour at and after the rate of one Shilling Sterling money of Great Britain for each and every Ration or allowance to consist of and comprehend the weight and quantity of Provisions and Articles herein before enumerated and expressed which Sum or Sums of money are to be paid by the said Thomas N. Jeffery his Deputy, Agent, or Successors in Office to the said Lewis de Mollitor his Executors or Administrators after the Completion of this agreement on the part of the said Lewis de Mollitor and as soon after the expiration of the said [Term?] as the whole accounts of Expenditures for the Maintenance and support of all the Blacks and People of Color upon Melville Island aforesaid during the Term aforesaid shall have been approved and passed by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of this Province in a Council to be held for that purpose payment to be made in Cash or Bills of Exchange drawn upon the Right Honorable the Lords Commissioners of his Majesty's Treasury in London at the same rate of Exchange as Bills shall be drawn at the time of such payment by the Deputy Commissary General which modes of payment are to be at the option of the said Thomas N. Jeffery his Deputy or Agent or successors in Office And it is further agreed by and between the parties to these presents that one month previous to the expiration of the aforesaid Term or other termination of this Contract that the party desirous to terminate the same shall give the other due notice of such his intention and it is further agreed that this Contract shall remain in full force and effect until such notice of one month shall be given by the party wishing to terminate the same.
