23rd November 1815

I have the honor to report to you, for His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor's information, that in consequence of the approval of His Excellency, the number of Persons employed at the expense of Government on othe Establishment of the Refugee Negroes at Melville Island, was on the 18th Instant reduced to the following Persons [viz.?] David [Gerrard?] Surgeon, at 3/10 per diem, Jno H. [Noonan?] clk. at £200 st'g per Annum, & R. [Hodgers?] Keeper & Steward, at 7/6 Currency p'diem.
I have also to report, that I have made enquiry from the Keeper at the Island, whether the
