"Shown above is a scene famililiar to all Haligonians of sixty years ago, and afterwards, in fact it is the building which was the clubhouse of the Royal Nova Yacht Club, and afterwards became headquarters for the Lorne Club, being finally razed [sic] in the Halifax disaster. The picture above was taken in 1871, as is suggested by the dress of some of the people in the picture. The racing Shell in the dock has seated."
