The Novascotian, Monday, 1 November 1858

The masthead of The Novascotian was one of the most interesting of the province's newspaper mastheads because it showed Nova Scotia's connection to Britain by including the shamrock for Ireland, the rose for England, the thistle for Scotland, and the mayflower for Nova Scotia.
