Ernest Buckler: A Remarkable Nova Scotia Novelist

Ernest Buckler died on 4 March 1984. The Chronicle-Herald, 8 March 1984, p. 1-E, quoted literary giant Margaret Laurence who said Buckler's The Mountain and the Valley ''may have been the best novel written in this century, and the best novel written anywhere in the last 50 years.''
