Bob Brooks' Photographic Portrait of Africville in the 1960s

Some of the interesting faces at a public meeting at Seaview African United Baptist Church, Africville

The meeting was held in response to the July 1962 report of the City of Halifax development department recommending the elimination of Africville. During the meeting, Africville residents stated their opposition to the City's plans for relocating them.
