Newspapers from outside of Halifax also covered the Emancipation question. Pictou's Colonial Patriot on 27 August 1833, (Volume VI, Number XXXV) carried a reprint on page 1 from a pamphlet "Three months in Jamaica in 1832, comprising a residence of seven weeks on a sugar plantation" under the title "Slavery in the West Indies".
