May it please your Excellency.

I am a poor Man of Colour who have been forciably deprived of half of a lot of Land grant to me by his Lordship the Governor General as will appear by his Excellency's signature for which I can receive no redress.

I therefor most humbly implore that your Excellency may be graciously pleased to help the distressed.

With due deference and fervent respect
