Circular 10th April 1808
Sir,
I enclose you herewith the Copy of His Majestys General Order in Council drafted the 16th day of March last, for carrying into effect the Act drafted in the 47th year of his Majestys reign for the abolition of the Slave Trade.
Also a Copy of an order of His Majesty in Council appointing the Collection or Chief Officer of the Customs in Nova Scotia, to receive protect, and provide for all such natives of Africa, as have been or shall be condemned as Prize of War of forfeiture to His Majestys use in the (illegible) Island.
These orders will be conveyed through the apartment of the Treasury, to the said Chief Officer of the Customs, with instructions for his duly executing the duty thus Consigned.
