Gentlemen,

With reference to my letter of yesterday's date I have now the honor, by command of His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, to inclose a copy of a letter from Dr Baxter, Inspector of Military Hospitals, containing the substance of the export of the Medical Officer who was ordered to visit the Settlement of the Black Refugees at Hammond Plains to [examine?] into the nature of the disease which prevails among those poor people.
