May it Please your Excellency

To allow me to present to Five Lists, one of which
is a List of the Principal Wrecks that have occurred on Sable Island since
the year 1802, And the other embraces Two periods of Seven years each,
Commencing with my superintendance in 1830, and containing on account of the
Number of Wrecks in those Five periods with the Lives and Property saved,
also the produce of the Island, with the improvements on it, during the said
Periods, In which I humbly beg leave to to show your Excellency what Labour
I have performed, and some expence that I have been at, in constructing Boats
and Carts for the Benefit of the Establishment, (all absolutly nefsecary) and on a Plan entirely New, and adapted to the services required. and which is quite Manifest from the Immense quantity of property saved by them, This Labour I never considered as my part of my Duty as Superintendant, consequently as I have never recieved anyy thing for it, I do not think that I have been well treated by the Commissioners, who have had it in their Power to remunerate me out of the Property Saved, (by those very things) and which went into their hands,

I would be much pleased to have an opportunity to wait upon
your Excellency in Halifax if I could, But the arduous Duties of my profefsion and the constant care that is required of an attentive Person to this Establishment, keeps me very much Confined, And as I have no competent Person to afsist me since my two grown up sons have left and the duties are so extensive and some of them very Difficult to Execute, My salary also is very small, and Inadequate to the Service I have to perform,
And I humbly Beg leave to Suggest to your Excellency the propriety
of ordering
