In answer to the enclosed letter. We beg to state the Schooner Fulton was stranded on Sable Island in May 1848. Her sails & rigging with a a part of cargo.. and Sold at public Auction at the same time the Hull, and such part of the Cargo supposed to be on that at the time of Sale [^was sold to J. Campton? Campbell? Esq.r] It was stated at the time that were 2 [Cask? Cart?] of Copper in her, but the Comm.r could to say it a [underlined: fact], as the Cap.n left Halifax [immediately?] upon his arrival, consequently was not [illegible] that it was
