We the undersigned Three of Her Majestys Justices of the Peace for he County of Halifax being called upon to Arbitrate and determine the Amount of Salvage to be paid by the Owners or Underwriters of theHull and materials of the Australia lately wrecked on Sable Island having attentively considered the Statements made by the parties interested. [illegible] Award that the sum of Thirty Nine pounds and One Shilling Halifax Currency being one half of the Nett proceeds arising from the sales of the said Hull and materials be paid as Salvage to the Commissioner for Managing the affairs of said Island and that the residue or Sum of Thirty Nine pounds and One Shilling being one half of said nett proceeds be paid to the Owners or Underwriters of the said Ship Australia as per statement annexed -
Given under our hands at Halifax Nova Scotia the 19th March 1842
