Ernest Buckler: A Remarkable Nova Scotia Novelist

McClelland and Stewart, Toronto, published Whirligig in 1977; David Shaw & Associates Ltd. designed the jacket. Buckler won the 1978 Leacock award for humour for Whirligig, a collection of stories and poems. The back cover's alliteration described Whirligig as ''An easygoing collection of wit, whimsy, and wisdom from Canada's master of prose.'' The book retailed for $7.95.
