Report of provision remaining in the store at Dartmouth 1st,, may 1816 of what we received 2nd,, november 1815 for the people of colour [setteling?] at Preston

For 27 men for 6 months
Bread 2140 [illegible]
Beef 3024
Pork 1080
Rice 1404

The provision we received was calculated for 400 men for six months
though we had then but to the amount of 357 rations per day, and the average number of rations we have actually issued through the 6 months
has been but 373 full rations per day. For the remaining 27 rations there should have been 4914 ,, [# or $?] of bread, but as the bread averaged at Preston but 107 ,, [illegible] per bag instead off 112 ,, [illegible]] as it is charged to us [their?] remains but 20 bags containing 107 [illegible] per bag. if they average with what we have already issued 2,140 ,, [illegible]

Preston 1st. May 1816 [J]. Chamberlain
I do herby certify that having from week to week weight the bags
of Breads issued to the people of colour at Preston [I?] find the
average weights of them to be not more then one hundred and seven
pounds per bag
