Beaver Harbour is located along Highway 7, approximately 11 kilometres east of Sheet Harbour. The land was originally part of a 5,000 acre grant made to surveyor Charles Morris in 1773. By 1834 there were at least five families settled in the area (Hawbolt, Whitman, Winters, Hartling, Jewers). A building to serve as school and chapel was erected at Beaver Harbour around 1859. In ca.1912 a union church (pictured) was built by the Anglicans and Presbyterians. In 1953 the union church was renamed St. Augustine's Anglican. In 1971 it was deconsecrated and in 1972, torn down.
