Berry Picking

This excerpt from “The Cranberry Connection” 1924. The picking season is a pleasant one, for several reasons. The weather is proverbially fine in that most delightful of all months, October, when women and children turn out in great numbers to join the cranberry picking frolic, with well-filled dinner baskets and happy countenances.

In this 1956 photo, we find ladies from Arisaig at the home of Zeno MacDonald cleaning and sorting the cranberries; seated left is Mary (nee Coll MacDonald) Lavendar; and standing Annabel MacDonald.
