The convent which was originally located on the site where the church was to be built. The building was relocated approximately one kilometer north and the sisters were moved into a section of the College until a new convent could be built on the campus. The old convent was converted into a home for the family of Emile Stehelin, one of the founders of New France. The story of New France is well documented in the book “The Electric City” by Paul Stehelin.
