The Quoddy communities (West, East and Newdy Quoddy) are situated between Port Dufferin and Harrigan Cove. This area was settled in the early 1800s and was a busy area with two churches, a school, post office, ship building enterprises and a lobster factory. In [???] the grocery store was located in West Quoddy, and a popular way to travel was by bicycle, even in the winter, over frozen lakes and harbours.
