Mushaboom is a community located off of Highway 7, between Spry Harbour and Sheet Harbour. The community is spread out along the east side of Musaboom Harbour and is primarily a fishing community. It was first settled ca.1830 by the Boutiliers who were "Foreign Protestants" that initially settled in Lunenburg, before moving to the Eastern Shore. In this photo, Melburne and Uriah Boutlier are cleaning cod fish on their wharf. Notice the homemade "killick" anchors in the background, constructed from stones and wood.
