Southwest Cove is a tiny fishing community found along the coast between Owls Head and Little Harbour. It is an ideal cove for harbouring fishing vessels and was also the closest community to the Owls Head lightkeeper, who would make his way along the rocky coastline, through Southwest Cove and on to Owls Head for provisions (if going by land). The children of the lightkeeper would follow the same path to school at Owls Head.
