Jeddore Rock Lighthouse is on the summit of a barren island at the entrance to Jeddore Harbour, where it guides local fishermen safely into harbour. The lighthouse and towers were established in 1881 and the lightkeeper and his family lived on the rock, including two local lightkeepers, John W. Mitchell and Howard Blakeney. The light was automated in the 1950s, and the structure replaced by a skeleton tower in 1980. The light still shines today.
