Meisner's Island was a small island located at the very tip of Lower East Chezzetcook, near Long Beach. It was originally homesteaded by John George Misener from 1851 to 1881. The home and barn pictured here were still habitable in the early 1950s, but erosion slowly threatened the island, and eventually the island disappeared in the early 1990s. Today, all that remains are some rocks jutting out above the sea.
