Johann Christian Naugle, originally of Germany, settled the land now bordered by the West Lawrencetown Road around 1861 after moving there from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia with his wife Eliza Emily Wentzell. He was a farmer and raised a large family who settled much of the area around the West Lawrencetown Road. Pictured here is a Naugle home built before 1900, with an unidentified man and calf in the roadway in front of the picket fence. The house is still standing about one kilometre in from intersection with Route 207.
