The Wong Family

George Wong, native of China and wife Molly Lee came to Antigonish in 1930 and opened Wong’s Cafe´ on July 10th of that year.

The Ladies of the Hospital Auxiliary served customers while J H Stewart, former Mayor of the Town looked after the money. The proceeds for that opening day were donated to St Martha’s Hospital.

Seen here in this photograph is George Wong (back Left) with his four of his children (front), and Red Archie MacGillivray (back right), the Town Policeman.
