Moving Françis and Ida Comeau’s house

Moving a house… It was cheaper to move houses than build new ones, especially in the years following World War I.

Moving Françis and Ida Comeau’s house from the north of the village to its location in the centre of the village. They had to use 17 pairs of oxen to pull it. The house was built circa 1880.

The photo was taken opposite the CMBA Hall, Middle West Pubnico.
