Addington House Hotel>
James Reuben Trefry purchased land from Nicholas d’Entremont in 1880, from Georges d’Entremont in 1883, and from Symphorien Surette in 1885. This house was therefore built between 1880 and 1885. Mr. Trefry was from Arcadia and he worked in the village.
T.A. Edward Addington bought the property for $1,200.00 and he converted the house into a hotel, Addington House, but he died not long after and his wife inherited the entire property, which changed hands a few times before landing in the hands of Adolphe Amirault. In the two years from 1899 to 1900, there was a succession of four owners. Adolphe and Marie-Élisabeth ran it as a hotel for several years.
