Annapolis Valley Macdonald Museum, Middleton

Summer Vans

These "vans" were built to be pulled by horses and used to collect children across a wide area in order for them to attend Macdonald Consolidated School. The vans made it possible for children living further away to attend school as their small rural schools were closed in favour of the larger consolidated school.
