55: Across the street from Bruce's was once this bldg. with the first apt. in town in it. The second bldg. on the same site. It burned and now Steadman's have a new bldg. there. C.B. Longmire had the boot and shoe store, and his nephew, Charles, the book and stationary store.

56: The once lovely brick residence of Robert E. FitzRandolph. Here remodelled for a store on the first floor. On West of Queen's.

57: The Richard James house, built 1873. Still standing. Next to the former Longmire bldg., here. Opposite Bruce's. Queen East.

58: Built by R.E. FitzRandolph about 1882. Used by him as a shop. Bought by Union Bank of Halifax, and then became the Royal Bank. Offices above, and to the left downstairs the little store of Miss Ethel Davies. Torn down recently and a new bldg. erected. Corner of Queen and Granville Streets.
